Olexiy Soshenko is the Managing Partner, Head of the Banking and Finance and Debt Restructuring practice, and Co-Head of the Capital Markets practice, at Redcliffe Partners.

He specialises in international finance and capital markets transactions and has more than 20 years’ experience representing investment banks, international financial institutions, and borrowers on all types of syndications and secured finance transactions, as well as private and public securities offerings.

Olexiy acts as a sole arbitrator of the Arbitration Committee established according to the new Law “On Financial Restructuring”, introduced with the help of the EBRD and the World Bank. He also contributes to the activities of the Rail Working Group and its Country Contact Group for Ukraine in order to promote the Luxembourg Rail Protocol in the Ukrainian railway market.

  • Advising EBRD in connection with risk sharing instruments provided to ProCredit Bank, OTP Bank and OTP Leasing
  • Advising the EBRD in connection with developing mechanisms and policies for setting up risk sharing arrangements between the EBRD and Ukrainian banks for the purposes of creating additional co-financing instruments to support loans to local companies
  • EBRD, NEFCO, BSTDB, Proparco, Finnfund, IFU, FMO, Green for Growth Fund and J.P. Morgan Securities Plc (debt coordinator) in connection with a EUR262 million secured term loan to Ukrainian project company SyvashEnergoProm to fund the construction of a 250 MW wind power plant near Syvash Lake, in the Kherson Region of Ukraine, the largest renewables project financing in Ukraine
  • Advising FMO (the Netherlands Development Bank), Green for Growth Fund and the Norwegian Guarantee Institute for Export Credits (GIEK) in connection with the EUR 38 million financing of the construction, maintenance, and operation of a 54 MWp solar PV plant in Bohuslav in the Kyiv region
  • Acting for ING, Natixis, UniCredit, Deutsche Bank in their capacity as the coordinating committee for the pre-export finance banks in connection with the successful implementation of a USD 2.3 billion debt restructuring for Metinvest
  • Advising Citibank on its USD30 million loan to Myronivsky Hliboproduct
  • Advising Bondholders on restructuring of Eurobonds issued by Nadrabank and related regulatory issues
  • Advising Credit Suisse, Banca IMI, Barclays, UniCredit, Banca Akros, and KKR Capital Markets on Guala Closures S.p.A. issue of bonds for EUR455 million, maturing in 2024 and listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange
  • Advising China Development Bank on USD3 billion financing to National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine guaranteed by Ukraine
  • Advising a consortium of banks led by ING Bank N.V, UniCredit Bank AG, and Deutsche Bank AG on up to USD500 million financing of Kernel
  • Advising Deutsche Bank on the restructuring of a USD600 million syndicated loan provided to Ukrlandfarming
