Andriy Nikiforov, Partner in the Banking, Finance & Capital Markets practice at Redcliffe Partners has been elected to the Board of the Banking, Finance and Insurance Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) for 2022-2023.
Previously, Andriy served as Chair of the Committee for two consecutive two-year terms, in 2018-2019 and 2020-2021. Under Andriy’s leadership, the Committee organised over fifteen events dedicated to some of the most topical issues in Ukraine: FX regulation, enhancement of creditors’ rights protection, financial restructuring and insolvency, corporate approvals for financing transactions, implementation of the PSD2 in Ukraine and the new Payment Services Act, cryptocurrencies, COVID-19’s impact on credit transactions, the new anti-money laundering law, and personal guarantees of UBOs. These events brought together a number of Ukrainian banking and finance law practitioners and were attended, in particular, by senior officers of the National Bank of Ukraine, other state agencies and leading Ukrainian commercial banks.
Andriy comments on his appointment: “Over the past years, the Committee has become a great tool for connecting committee members with state officials and other experts in the financial market. I will work closely with the new Chair and other board members of the Committee to make it an even stronger voice when it comes to the enhancement of Ukrainian law and the adoption of its commercially sensible interpretation. The Committee’s events will focus on protecting creditors’ and investors’ rights in Ukraine and facilitating infrastructure and other projects that help Ukraine’s transition to a sustainable and resilient economy”.
