Redcliffe Partners helps launch the first ‘Straight Talk’ on 20 April 2017

On 20 April 2017, Redcliffe Partners, jointly with the Kyiv Post and Fedoriv Hub, launched the inaugural Straight Talk event: "Pressure on Business". The event was attended by more than 60 people, and the enthusiastic feedback suggested that this is a very welcome format.

Specifically, Straight Talk is a new, exclusive series of events that features a full hour of engaging questions and direct discussions. The first Straight Talk: "Pressure on Business" focused on the core challenges that businesses in Ukraine face today. The goal was to explore public perceptions of the business environment in Ukraine, and to gain insights into how leading Ukrainian and international companies navigate its complexities.

Dmytro Fedoruk, a partner with Redcliffe Partners, served as the host and moderator of the event, and began with explaining the format: "You’re all tired of boring speakers and presentations. That’s why we came up with this idea. It's going to be like Hardtalk on the BBC. Quick questions, quick answers. Our panel of speakers may not like it, but I hope they'll enjoy it in the end."

Redcliffe Partners and the Kyiv Post were delighted to have a panel of speakers that included such professionals as Sergey Vovchenko, head of the Milk Alliance Supervisory Board; Yulia Marushevska, Ukrainian activist and former chief of Odessa Customs; Mikhail Merkulov, CEO of Arricano Real Estate Plc; Yuriy Terentyev, chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine; Iaroslav Gregirchak, FCArb, deputy business ombudsman of Ukraine; and Jonathan Popper, executive vice president, corporate strategy & development at Ukrnafta.

Redcliffe Partners looks forward to sponsoring more such events in the future as a way to further honest dialogue and contribute to identifying solutions for an improved business climate.
