Oleksandr Markov is a counsel and Head of the Tax and Tax Litigation practice of Redcliffe Partners.

Oleksandr is a recognised tax law practitioner. Over recent years his practice has increasingly focused on general tax advisory, tax administration and tax compliance, transactional tax, and tax dispute matters.

He has assisted a number of international and domestic clients with tax audits, guiding them through challenging tax assessments both in administrative procedures and in courts. He also provided legal support in criminal proceedings related to tax evasion. Oleksandr’s sector knowledge covers agribusiness, FMCG and retail, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, telecom and media.

Oleksandr is a member of two commissions of the International Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine: the Commission on Taxation, and the Commission on Customs and Trade Facilitation. Together with other experts, he works on issues surrounding improvements to international tax legislation and customs procedures, and on expanding opportunities for international trade.

Before joining Redcliffe Partners, Oleksandr practised law for more than 10 years with leading accounting and law firms in Ukraine.

Oleksandr is recognised as a Next Generation Lawyer in Tax, according to the 2018 edition of Legal 500. He is a certified attorney-at-law admitted to the bar in Ukraine.
