Yuriy Terentyev is a partner and Co-Head of Antitrust at Redcliffe Partners with a particular focus on competition law, corporate matters, government relations and international trade.
Prior to joining Redcliffe Partners, Yuriy worked for five years (2015 – 2020) as the Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU). In this role, Yuriy carried out AMCU capacity improvement projects and reform of the organisational structure of the AMCU, based on OECD peer review and in close cooperation with the EU, OECD and USAID. These initiatives resulted in recognised material improvements to the effectiveness and transparency of the authority. Additionally, during his work at the AMCU, Yuriy oversaw the rollout of the state aid control system and the handling of over 500 merger notifications yearly, as well as abuse of dominance cases, anticompetitive concerted actions cases and unfair competition cases, in such areas as FMCG, energy, chemicals, port services, pharmaceuticals, public procurement and TMT.
Prior to the AMCU, Yuriy worked as Ukrainian general counsel at ArcelorMittal, the world’s leading steel and mining company, as well as legal counsel at Japan Tobacco International and Bristol Myers Squibb Ukraine, respectively. He also held a variety of management positions at retailer Metro Cash & Carry.
